The honest version — no fine print, no runaround.
Every Trail Grins tee is printed fresh specifically for your order.
That is how we keep quality high and waste low. It also means we run things a little differently from a traditional retail store.
Here is exactly how our policy works — clearly, honestly, and upfront where it belongs.
When We Cannot Help
Because every item is made to order specifically for you, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for:
- Ordering the wrong size
- Ordering the wrong color
- Simply changing your mind
We know that is not what everyone wants to hear. But it is the honest truth and you deserve that clearly rather than buried somewhere nobody reads.
Before you order, please take a moment to check the size chart on the product page. It is there for exactly this reason — and future you will be grateful.
When We Absolutely Will Help
If something goes wrong on our end — we have got you. No runaround, no drama.
You may be eligible for a free reprint, an exchange, or a full refund if:
- Your item arrives damaged
- Your item has a printing defect or manufacturing error
- You received the wrong item, wrong size, or wrong color entirely
To qualify, here is what we need:
- Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order.
- Your item must be unused and unwashed.

- your order number.
- a short description of the issue, and.,
- a clear photo showing the problem.
We are real people on the other end of that inbox. We will review your case, ask any follow up questions if needed, and let you know the best path forward.
Every situation is different and we will always do our best to make things right.
Please note — we reserve the right to request the item be returned before a resolution is finalized.
If a return is required, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked service and keeping your proof of postage.
A Note on Print Placement
DTG printing is precise but not robotic. There is an accepted tolerance of 0.5 inches for print placement on all garments.
Minor variations within this range are a normal part of the printing process and are not considered defects.
If the placement looks significantly off or something looks genuinely wrong — that is a different story. Email us with a photo and we will take a look.
How Refunds Work
Once your case is reviewed and a refund is approved:
- Refunds are processed within 10 business days of approval.
- Refunds are applied to your original payment method.
- Timing after that depends on your bank or card provider.
- In some situations we may offer store credit as an alternative option.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
If it has been more than 10 business days since your refund was approved and nothing has appeared — email us immediately and we will look into it.
Unsuccessful Deliveries
If your order could not be delivered and is returned to us, here is what to do first:
- Double check that your delivery address was entered correctly at checkout
- Check with your local post office — packages are sometimes held for pickup
If both steps are done and your order still cannot be located, contact us at cs@trailgrins.com.
Depending on the situation, we may offer a reprint with an additional charge or a partial refund.
We will review each case individually and find the fairest resolution.
Lost Packages
If your order has not arrived within the following timeframes after shipping, it may qualify as a lost package:
- US domestic orders — 30 calendar days.
- International orders — 45 calendar days.
Contact us and we will investigate from there.
The Short Version
We cannot take back a tee because the size was not quite right or you changed your mind.
But if we sent you something wrong, damaged, or defective — we fix it. A photo and an email is all it takes to get started.
We are a small business and we genuinely care about getting things right for every customer. This policy exists to be fair — to you and to us.
